The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has been discharged from the St. Thomas' hospital after 10 days of being treated for COVID-19.
Boris Johnson, who had spent three days in intensive care before returning to a ward last Thursday, said in a video on Twitter that he had witnessed the personal courage of hospital staffs on the front line. He also thanked the UK National Health Service (NHS) and the medical team that took care of him during his admission at the hospital.
A statement released by the prime minister's office on Sunday, said the prime minister would continue his recovery at Chequers, a 16th century country residence of the UK prime minister.
"On the advice of his medical team, the PM will not be immediately returning to work. He wishes to thank everybody at St Thomas' for the brilliant care he has received," the statement said.
