No fewer than two people have been reported dead, and seventeen others have been hospitalised after eating food suspected to been poisoned at a wedding in Kastina.
A spokesman of the Kastina State Police command, Gambo Isah, said the two prime suspects have been aprehended and are in custody.
The suspects, 25 year-old Musa Suleiman, and 20 year-old Shafa'atu Sirajo, confessed to the police that they conspired to put poison in food to be served to guests at the wedding.
It is gathered that the two suspects reside at the same house in Ali Yaba village of Mani LGA in Kastina. According to a short video that was released by the police, Sirajo revealed that Suleiman gave her rice and a bucket of water to cook for the guests.
The two deceased person, who are visitors from Niger Republic, were pronounced dead at the hospital.
