A South African woman was caught at the New Delhi airport in India while trying to summgle 4.9 kilograms of heroin worth $2.7 million.
The woman his the narcotics substance in her trolley bags and according to the authorities, she was to deliver the package to a drug dealer in New Delhi.
The 26-year-old, who runs a beauty salon in Johannesburg, South Africa, was intercepted by customs officers when she arrived at the Terminal 3 on Saturday from South Africa.
She was stopped by officials after she passed the green channel and was asked to cooperate for a thorough baggage search.
The police say efforts are being made to check her past journeys to India.
