A Californian man allegedly stabbed his twin daughters to death before taking his own life in his home in Placentia on Wednesday.
The Police have identified the man as Timothy Takehara, 41-years-old, and his daughters, both nine years of age. The police didn't release the name of the little girls.
"It's horrific. It's not something that anyone would want to see. To see the tragic death of two young children, in one word it's horrific," said a police spokesperson, Sgt. Bryce Angel.According to Angel, authorities responded to a distress call made by Takehara's wife at about 12:30 am that her husband had stabbed their twin daughters.
On the police's arrival, Takehara had already stabbed himself and his body was found lying outside his home on the sidewalk. Police went into the house and found the two girls tragically stabbed and bleeding.
Both Takehara and his daughters were pronounced dead later on Wednesday night, after suffering from fatal stab wounds.
The police also said they found two other women in the house. One of them being the Takehara's wife and the other is his mother. They were both present in the house, but were asleep at the time of the incident. However, none of them were harmed.
The police have not determined the whole cause of the incident, and neither are they in search for anyone in connection with the killings, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Neighbors and classmates of the girls gathered in front of their home on Wednesday to pay their respect and pray for the mother who lost her children.
