The most terrifying serial killer

You see this man right here, his name is Luis Alfred Garavito. He's a Colombian man who committed one of the world's most terrible crimes to be ever recorded.

Within a span of seven years (1992-1999), Garavito murdered as many as 300 and raped more than 400+ young boys, between the ages of 6-16.

Luis was first caught early in his life by a police officer, who caught him in the act of raping an underage boy. Unfortunately, he didn't get arrested or prosecuted. He got off easily by bribing that police officer.

That was begining of Garavito's terror. He beacame a sexual predator that hunted kids (notably boys), and killed anyone who tried to expose him.

He picked young boys because he believed they are more vulnerable. He is said to have lured most his victims by giving them gifts and sometimes, disguised himself pretending to be a pastor or an elderly person in order to gain the trust of his victims.

Garavito was eventually caught in 1999. At first, the court sentenced him to 1853 years and 9 days in prison, but the judgement was overturned because the Colombian Constitution states that no inmate shall be jailed for more than 40 years.

Because he confessed to his crimes and cooperated with the police in their investigations, Garavito's sentence was reduced to 22 years.

His jail term term expires in 2021, but will likely spend a lot more years behind bars because there is a Colombian law that imposes a life sentence for people who commit violent crimes against children.
