The first and only confirmed case of coronavirus in Ekiti state has been discharged after receiving treatments for two weeks.
This brings to a total number of nine patients who have been discharged in Nigeria and .
According to the Ekiti State Government, the patient was discharged after he tested negative twice and with his organs in good shape.
"We shall keep monitoring him from his base and we also appeal to members of the public to call the emergency numbers to report any suspected case, so we can take action in a timely manner. It was the timely intervention that saved our index case," Ekiti state commissioner of health said.
The National Disease Control Centre reports shows that the confirmed cases currently stands at 139 and 2 deaths, with Lagos and Abuja being the places with the highest confirmed cases.
