A 37-year-old man has landed in trouble after the the Lagos State Police Command arrested him for beating his 5-year-old son to death for misplacing his betting ticket.
Bamidele Olajide confessed to the police that he left his Bet9ja ticket on the table while he was asleep, only for him to wake up to see that it is gone.
"It was not intentional, I only beat him out of annoyance for throwing away the ticket, it was when I was beating him that he ran outside and fell from the staircase before hitting his head on the ground," he said.
According to him, he had won a certain amount of money from the ticket, and he planned to use the money to care of some his responsibilities as the head of his family.
He will be charged to court as soon as the police are done with the investigations.
