An 18-year-old lady in Jigawa has been arrested by the Police for allegedly killing her one-day-old baby boy after the corpse was dug out from the ground in a bush.
The lady gave birth to a baby boy on February 1, but suspicions arose when the baby was nowhere to be found on the same day of birth.
The police investigations revealed that on January 31, she was taken to a house in Sankara village in Ringim LGA by her step mother, where she was given injections by medical personnel.
The investigations also revealed that the baby was instantly buried after birth. According to a police spokesperson, the baby has been taken to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
