Surgeons did what has never been done in the history of surgeries on Sunday, 2nd August, when they successfully formed a new penis on the arm of a castrated man.
The 45-year-old patient, Malcom MacDonald, lost his penis years ago due to a terrible infection he had in his perineum- the space between a person's genital and the anus.
Malcom's infection became so serious that it caused serious bleedings and later developed into what is known as "sepsis" which led to his penis being cut off.
In an interview with The Sun, he detailed how "heartbreaking" he felt after losing his penis.

Here is an excerpt of the interview with The Sun:
"I had struggled for years with an infection in my perineum but I had no idea what could happen"
"I knew deep down it was gone and I was going to lose it. Then one day it just dropped off on to the floor. Because I had been through the devastation of knowing I was going to lose it, I just picked it up and put it in the bin. I went to the hospital and they said the best they could do for me was to roll the remaining stump up like a little sausage roll. It was heartbreaking.”
"For two years after losing my penis I felt a shadow of a man. My life really fell apart because I had no self-confidence. I drank too much. I didn’t see family and friends - I just didn’t want to have to face up to it."

They went on to remove the shaft from his forearm, allowing it to form naturally as skin and tissue. The penis baically has its own blood vessels and nerves.
Still, Malcolm, who is a father to two children, isn't that much happy with the penis on his arm. He is now desperate for a £50,000 NHS-funded appendage to pay for another surgery this year that will hopefully place the penis where it should be.
