Man hangs himself after thinking he had coronavirus

Man kills self for wronfully thinking he had coronavirus

An Indian man sadly took his own life on Monday for mistakenly thinking that he has been infected with coronavirus.

Bala Krishna, a 50-year-old, hanged himself on a tree in an effort to prevent his family from contracting the virus.

It was gathered that he locked his wife and children in their home while he proceeded to hang himself outside their home, near his mother grave.

His son, Bala Murali, said that he was ill for several weeks and was diagonsed with a viral fever (common cold). He has, since then, been constantly watching online videos about the symptoms of the disease, which he thought was coronavirus because he had similar symptoms.

Although, a fever is a symptom of coronavirus, but Mr Krishna was covinced that he had contracted coronavirus even after when the doctors told him it wasn't.

He reportedly told his family to keep a distance from him and regularly threw stones at anyone who came closer to him.

His son also said he contacted a government helpline and they told him he shouldn't worry since his father hadn't made any trip to China recently. But unfortunately, the man committed suicide for thinking he had a deadly virus which he didn't.
